One of our favorite things about burgundy is how easily it works alongside the colors many of us already own. It adds depth to cream and camel, feels especially luxurious paired with chocolate brown and creates beautiful contrast against denim. Even with black, burgundy brings just enough warmth to make an otherwise simple look feel more considered.

You also don’t have to commit to the color from head to toe. A burgundy handbag, shoe, knit or accessory can be enough to bring the season into your wardrobe. We especially love denim because of how easily it moves between different parts of your wardrobe. THE PALETTE: A NEW TAKE ON NEUTRALS

Cream, black and camel will always have a place in a fall wardrobe, but this season’s neutrals are becoming richer. Chocolate brown, olive, soft grey and deeper shades of burgundy are giving us more to work with, particularly when they’re layered together.

We’re also letting go of some of the old rules around how these colors should be worn. Chocolate brown and black can look incredibly sophisticated together. Burgundy works beautifully alongside brown and camel. Different shades of cream and beige become more interesting when texture is introduced through leather, suede or knitwear.

Rather than thinking about each color individually, think about the entire palette of your wardrobe. When the tones complement one another, getting dressed becomes easier because pieces naturally begin to work together in more combinations.
