The Brands Behind Sorella: Designers Worth Knowing

There is something special about discovering a designer you haven't seen everywhere else.

At Sorella, buying has never been simply about filling racks. We look for designers with a point of view—the ones doing something interesting with shape, craftsmanship, color or tradition. Sometimes that means discovering a piece that feels completely unexpected. Other times, it means finding a new version of something you'll wear for years.

Our collections bring together designers from different parts of the world and very different creative backgrounds, but they share something we love: you know when you're wearing them.

These are a few of the designers behind Sorella that are worth knowing.

Rachel Comey

Rachel Comey has a way of making everyday clothing feel anything but ordinary.

The New York designer began her label in 2001, emerging from the city's downtown arts scene. Since then, her collections have become known for artful textiles, modern silhouettes and pieces that often play with proportion in unexpected ways.

It's one of the reasons we continually come back to Rachel Comey at Sorella. Her clothes don't dictate how they should be worn. They leave room for the woman wearing them.

A beautiful trouser, an interesting knit or an unexpected denim silhouette can become part of your wardrobe without feeling like something everyone else already owns.

Henrik Vibskov

Fashion, art, music and performance all exist in the world of Henrik Vibskov.

The Danish designer graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2001, but calling him simply a fashion designer doesn't quite capture it. His creative work extends into installations, scenography, costumes, exhibitions and performance, often creating entire visual worlds around his collections.

That creativity translates into clothing that isn't afraid to be noticed.

Interesting volume, unexpected prints and unconventional silhouettes make Henrik Vibskov one of those designers that can introduce something entirely different into a closet.

For us, that's part of the fun.

KMJ

Sometimes the best ideas begin with something that already exists.

KMJ, created by Kate McHale Jensen, has become known for taking the familiar button-down shirt and completely reconsidering it. The brand's world includes reworked shirts, limited editions and one-of-a-kind pieces, even offering customers the opportunity to send in their own shirt or sweatshirt to be transformed.

We love the idea of taking something so classic and giving it an entirely different personality.

A great white shirt may be timeless. A KMJ shirt makes it personal.

Vineet Rahul

Vineet Rahul brings another perspective entirely.

The Indian label brings together contemporary design and the incredible textile and craft traditions of India. The result is clothing rich in detail, pattern and texture—pieces that carry a sense of artistry while still finding a place in a modern wardrobe.

It's a reminder that some of the most interesting fashion happens when traditional craftsmanship isn't simply preserved, but interpreted in a new way.

And those are exactly the kinds of pieces we love discovering for Sorella.

CHAN LUU

Jewelry is often where a wardrobe becomes truly personal.

Founded in Los Angeles in 1996 by Vietnamese-born designer Chan Luu, CHAN LUU has built its identity around craft, materiality and traditional handwork. Today, under the creative direction of Tessa Tran, the brand continues to reinterpret artisan techniques across jewelry, accessories and ready-to-wear.

The jewelry has an ease that makes it especially good for layering.

A necklace picked up one season can eventually sit beside something you've owned for twenty years. Bracelets accumulate. Metals mix. Pieces begin to carry memories.

That's when jewelry stops being simply an accessory and starts becoming part of your story.

Dean Davidson

Dean Davidson approaches jewelry from a global perspective.

Designed in the brand's Toronto studio, each piece begins as a hand sketch before being developed with artisans. The brand is particularly recognizable for its hand-cut gemstones and signature brushed finishes, with inspiration often coming from Davidson's travels around the world.

There is a strength to the jewelry that we love.

A beautiful hoop or sculptural ring can stand completely on its own, but the designs are classic enough to live alongside the pieces already in your jewelry box.

They're statement pieces without needing a special occasion.

4CCCCEES

A shoe can be practical. It can also completely change an outfit.

4CCCCEES lives somewhere between the two.

Founded by footwear designer Sang-Min Park, the Korean-based brand approaches shoes almost architecturally, considering proportion, balance and movement alongside design. Sculptural soles, dimensional shapes and unexpected textures give the shoes their distinctive look, while comfort remains central to the construction.

That's an important combination for us.

We want the shoe you fall in love with because of the way it looks to also become the shoe you actually reach for.

The Sorella Point of View

There isn't one formula for what belongs at Sorella.

That's intentional.

A sculptural pair of 4CCCCEES might sit beside a Rachel Comey trouser. A CHAN LUU necklace might be layered with jewelry you've had for years. A KMJ shirt can be worn with your favorite denim, while a Henrik Vibskov piece brings something completely unexpected into the equation.

Personal style becomes much more interesting when everything isn't from the same place, the same designer or even the same point of view.

The best wardrobes feel collected.

They're built slowly from pieces that caught your attention, pieces discovered while traveling, pieces you've had forever and, occasionally, a designer you'd never heard of until you walked through the door.

At Sorella, we want to keep introducing you to those designers.

Because sometimes finding something you didn't know you were looking for is the best part of shopping.
